Dead & Deader: Movie Review

Hello Everyone,

I am back again with another Zombie filled review.

Dead & Deader: After he's bitten by a scorpion carrying a zombie virus, a tough soldier survives the infection, becoming only a half zombie. Once back in the US, he finds himself fighting his former comrades in arms, all of whom are turning into zombies!

This movie happens to star Superman aka Dean Cain. I am sorry but Dean Cain will always be Superman to me no matter how many "interesting" roles he plays.

This movie was a step up from a B Horror....well maybe not a whole step, just a half a step so a B+ Horror. Yup, I am going to go with that B+ Horror as it is an appropriate description. The movie had cheesy graphics and not a very strong  story line but it had Dean Cain with Guy Torry as his faithful zombie killing sidekick. The whole concept of being a half-zombie is interesting and I enjoyed his "Super" zombie powers.

What zombie movie wouldn't be complete without a creeper coroner, Armin Shimerman, who makes the fatal error of diagnosising people as dead when they seem to keep getting up and walking around.

This movie was riddled with problems but it was enjoyable. So go check it out.

Alice in Zombieland - Book Review

Hello Everyone,

I got a new review for you. The book is called Alice in Zombieland by Joshua Cook. I actually have a raffle going until the 30th of July for an autographed copy so go ahead and click the link on the right hand side of the page.

Alice in Zombieland is a thrilling read about the aftermath that occurs when the public learn that zombies are real and there is actually an outbreak occurring. The book actually starts off with an interview with a real life zombie on the news and fast forwards 9 years later after the historic interview.

An outbreak occurs, an attempted typical cover up, and poor Alice is caught in the middle as she has the potential to become the ultimate Zombie.

I found this book very enjoyable because it was an easy read, the words flowed, and you were not bogged down with useless descriptions. This book explored the world of zombies from a realistic standpoint. The characters of Sam Ashe and Georgia “Gee” Marie are well developed and you cannot help but to cheer them on as they attempt to save Alice. I look forward to more from this series and author.

I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys zombies and quality writing.

Author Bio: Joshua Cook - “Writing has always been my passion in life. It has always been a hobby to me though. Thanks to some unfortunate luck in my life, I am now able to focus full time on my writing, and this is the result of the fruit of that labor." ~Joshua Cook

Joshua Cook was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, late in 1977. This where he spent most of his life. There have been short bursts throughout his life where he has spread his wild oats to other parts of the United States, though. Briefly Josh lived in Arizona and a brief - dark - time in Indiana and Ohio. Finally he landed in Washington state. He now calls Seattle his home where he lives with his beautiful cocker spaniel - black lab mix, Sam Dogg. This is where he created the growing fan favorite web site ZombieACRES.com, which spawned its first comic in October 2011. After many years of writing non-fiction, news, and various other articles, Josh decided to poke around in fiction - and is loving it.

Insanitarium - Movie Review

Hello Everyone,

Got another great zombie gore fest movie for you.

Insanitarium: The premise of this movie is that a man gets himself committed to an insane asylum to rescue his suicidal sister. What he finds is that a mad doctor is injecting his patients with a new nano-tech drug that turns patients into flesh-eating zombies.

The movie was surprisingly good and had various stars that I was surprised to see. It even had that guy Jesse Metcalfe from Desperate Housewives and the new Dallas.

The movie had the right amount of gore and funny parts that made me appreciate it. I would recommend it if you enjoy somewhat of a story line and a lot of gore.

Zombie Apocalypse - Movie Review

Hello Everyone,

I decided to add reviews to my blog. So I will be reviewing books, movies, etc that are all related to Zombies. I love Netflix because it provides me with those great Zombie Movies that we never even heard of.  I had the chance to stumble upon a zombie movie that I had to take a chance on.

Synopsis: Months after a zombie plague has wiped out 90 percent of the American population, a small group of survivors fight their way cross-county to a rumored refuge on the island of Catalina.

My Review: The movie drew me because of the fact that it had Zombies and my favorite zombie killer, Ving Rhames.

This movie was not visually pleasing to the eye. It really looked like I took my handheld digital camera and decided to make a movie. The story line was simply okay at best. Ving brought his proper zombie killing techniques which was literally the highlight of the movie.

The survivors were a hodge podge group that preferred the use of Left for Dead type melee weapons with a mixture of guns. I made my way slowly through this movie and was okay with it overall until the Zombie Bengal Tigers. I had to draw the line there and officially put this movie down as a hot mess.
