Car Paranoia: Ladder of Death

I am sure I am not the only one that does not like ladders. This may be true for me due to my past retail career in which the ladders in the back of the store were very shaky and downright death traps. 

Are you ever driving on the road and see the ladder on the back of  truck and start to wonder how secure it truly is. 

I always have the Morbid Moment that the ladder is not secure and that it will come flying off and go through my windshield. I actually knew someone that had this happen but the ladder bounced off the ground and went through the windshield behind them.

Car Paranoia: Buttflickers

Are you ever driving down the road and the car in front of your throws their still lit cigarette out the window! 

This is a pet peeve of mine and I cannot help yelling out in frustration. 

But besides it being a pet peeve of mine it also leads to a car paranoia. 

Yes I have a Morbid Moment that the cigarette that was just flicked out the window will light some gasoline that is leaking and inevitablely lead to my car on fire.

Car Paranoia: Poltergeist

I was recently doing my normal trip from exit 140A to 155P on the NJ Parkway. As I was driving I had a Morbid Moment. 

Are you ever driving and pass through a highway that was built through a cemetery?

 

One of my favorite movies leads to me to my Morbid Moment. 

As I drive on the highway that came after the cemetery and has it on both sides makes me think Poltergeist: "You moved the headstones but did not move the bodies!"

Car Paranoia: Airplane Highway

Are you ever driving and see an airplane fly by that is a little too low? Well I happen to live very close to the Newark Airport located in New Jersey. My favorite mall (yes I am am a Mall Rat!) happens to be located right next to the airport. 

Yes, my mall is big, it happens to be the biggest outlet mall in New Jersey, but I digress. So as I am located so close to the airport I often see planes land and take off as I am coming off of the highway and I literally duck as if they will skim the top of my car. I know this is irrational but you know you do it too!


I personally worry that a plane will mess up taking off or landing and crash through the mall or have the more likely scenario of landing on the highway as I am driving to the mall!

Car Paranoia: Bucket Truck

Are you ever driving and pass by a road crew who is working on power lines? You have to swerve around and see the guy at the top in the bucket. I personally have a Morbid Moment every time I pass by because I fear that the bucket will malfunction and the guy will come tumbling out and drop down onto the hood of my car as I drive past.
 

 
Or you drive past the road crew that are cutting back trees. You notice that all they have are some ropes to catch the tree limbs as they cut them. I always worry about the tree branch falling, smashing through my windshield, and impaling me.

Car Paranoia: Stalker

Apparently I do have a mass amount of car paranoia. So might as well keep the craziness going.

Have you ever been driving home at night. You make your right turn and then make your left turn and realize that the car behind you is following you. You then begin to panic and make extra turns and they make the same turns!

Now do you go the extra paranoia level and worry that the person behind you is a masked serial killer with piano wire just waiting for you to stop so they can drag your body out the car and kill you? Does your paranoia now get to the point that you drive past your house until this person stops following?

Car Paranoia: Tinted Windows

I realized that I have constant fears of being killed in a car. You first read about my fear of a masked serial killer in the back seat, well I have another one.

Are you ever driving alone at night and are the only car on the road? Then a second car that was behind you drives up next to you with tinted windows. I always have this sudden fear that there is a crazed killer in that car and they are holding up a gun behind those tinted windows and are going to kill me.

Car Paranoia: Backseat Killer

I truly have this Morbid Moment every day. When I walk to my car I quickly glance in the back seat. Once I am in the car I turn around and just feel with my hand to make sure there are no crazed masked serial killers crouched down in the back seat waiting to strangle me with a piano wire.
